    In order for a company to list on the Australian Small Scale Offerings Board (ASSOB) it must first engage the services of an accredited ASSOB Sponsor. Sponsors are sometimes sole operators however many are larger organisations that have recognised the financial benefit of having a number of trained and accredited ASSOB Sponsors bringing in added revenue to their firm.

    ASSOB Sponsors engage (under mandate) with companies wanting to list on ASSOB and will generally charge a retainer as well as success fees whilst acting for each ASSOB-listed company.

    ASSOB trains its Sponsors over an intensive two (2) day course in small scale capital raising and provides ongoing professional development programs to ensure they maintain their knowledge and skill. Sponsors traditionally come from the following disciplines. Accountants, Business Brokers, Business Coaches / Mentors, Business Service Providers (eg business plans), Capital Raising / Investment Ready Consultants, COMET Advisors, Consultants – Business / Innovation/ Management / Marketing, Corporate Advisers. Corporate Governance / Company Secretary Services, Executive Search / Recruitment Firms (referral program), Financial Planners, Government Grant Consultants, Investment Banking Services (small firms), Lawyers, M&A Advisors, Mortgage / Finance Brokers (retail, commercial and corporate), NSX Nomads, Succession Planning Consultants, Ex-CFO / CEO/ COO and Company Directors eg AICD members.

    They usually add on their ASSOB Sponsorship to their existing skill set which both widens their customer base and adds an additional stream of income.
